Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be certified as a National Registry EMT, EMT Advanced, or EMT Paramedic
  • EMT Paramedic preferred
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License, with good driving record
  • Must be capable of obtaining Oklahoma EMT licensure

Hiring Process

  • Must pass written test (Pass/Fail)
  • Must pass Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System physical agility test
  • Interview with Fire Chief
  • Interview with City Manager
  • Must pass a background investigation
  • Must successfully pass Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System physical and pre-employment drug screening
