Sergeant Henderson Joined the Skiatook Police Department in March of 2011. Sergeant Henderson received the TOP GUN award during his time at the CLEET basic Law Enforcement Academy and continued excelling in firearms by being the first officer to be awarded the Skiatook Police Department's annual Top Gun Award by having the highest firearm qualification scores two years in a row for 2011 and 2012.
Sergeant Henderson is a Certified CLEET Law Enforcement Instructor and has been trained in High Risk and Priority Asset Protection through the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and United States Secret Service. Prior to Joining the Skiatook Police Department Sergeant Henderson was a sponsored competitive shooter competing in competitive events including I.D.P.A. Sergeant Henderson completed and graduated from the CLEET Firearms Instructor Course in 2014. Sergeant Henderson graduated from the CLEET Criminal Investigations Academy in 2015.
Sergeant Henderson was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division October 19, 2015. In 2016 Sergeant Wes Henderson was awarded the Medal of Valor for stopping an armed suicidal homicide suspect after a long vehicle pursuit. Sergeant Henderson put himself in harms way to stop the armed suspect. He was also awarded the Life Saving Award for pulling a man from a burning structure to safety while ammunition was burning and discharging from the structure.
Sergeant Henderson was officially promoted to Patrol Sergeant September 25th 2020.
