The administration of the Skiatook Police Department is the responsibility of the Chief of Police James Dean and Captain Billy Wakefield. The administration is responsible for the staffing of a twenty four hour a day, seven day a week police force and allocating manpower to ensure the safety of the public for all visitors and citizens of the City of Skiatook. They also maintain training for each employee ensuring that they are up to date in all aspects of their job.
James DeanChief of PolicePhone: 918-396-2424With over 25 years of experience, Skiatook's Chief of Police is James Dean. Chief Dean started his career with the Hominy Police Department and then went to Pawhuska Police Department before joining the Skiatook Police Department in 1997. Chief Dean received recognition from Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) for three years in a row for his efforts in combating drunk driving.
Billy WakefieldCaptainPhone: 918-396-2424Captain Billy Wakefield started his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office where he was assigned as a detention officer, court guard and field deputy. Captain Wakefield started with the Skiatook Police Department in 1996 and was assigned to the patrol division for over 17 years. Captain Wakefield has twice received the Skiatook Police Department Life Saving Award and has been awarded the Medal of Valor by the Oklahoma Sheriff's and Peace Officers Association. Captain Wakefield is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
